Wagtail, Dancer of the Riverbank

This high-quality Wagtail Art Print is of the original Wagtail watercolour painting by Charlotte Sutton.

Summary:
Wagtail is a lively, elegant fine art print capturing the slender silhouette and ever-moving energy of this beloved bird. With its monochrome plumage, long flicking tail, and alert, upright stance, Charlotte’s watercolour painting celebrates the quiet charisma of the pied wagtail. A museum-grade giclée print, it brings movement, grace, and gentle optimism into your home.

The Story:
The pied wagtail is a bird in constant dance—skipping across rooftops, darting along riverbanks, its long tail in perpetual motion. Charlotte was drawn to its understated beauty and ceaseless spirit, a small bird with a big personality that seems to delight in the simple rhythm of life.
This painting captures a moment of pause: the wagtail stands alert but relaxed, its tail poised mid-sway, as if music lingers in the stillness. The soft neutral tones echo its natural surroundings—gravel paths, quiet streams, dew-wet mornings.
Wagtail is a celebration of life’s gentle rhythms, of joy found in movement and presence, and of the small creatures who make the world feel alive with their everyday dances.

A note from Charlotte…
Charlotte painted the original Wagtail in 2020 in her Bristol studio. It was later exhibited at The Waterton Gallery, London, as part of her Into the Light solo show, and is now sold. Charlotte’s wildlife work aims to evoke emotion, foster connection, and spark a sense of stewardship through beauty and storytelling.
