The Story:
Charlotte reimagines one of Windsor’s most iconic scenes with painterly flair: the Household Division marches across a field of wildflowers, the historic Round Tower rising behind them, and a statue of Queen Victoria presiding in a dreamlike haze of fluttering green parakeets.
Combining realism with artistic license, this joyful and slightly surreal composition celebrates national heritage in a contemporary, uplifting way. It’s a portrait of pride, rhythm, and British eccentricity—bursting with life, movement, and floral vibrancy.

A note from Charlotte…
Charlotte painted The Marching Guard in June 2022 in her Wandsworth Town studio, using oil on canvas to create a rich, textured finish. It was commissioned as the centrepiece of an exclusive collection for the Castle Hotel, Windsor. Today, it hangs above the bed in the Park Wing rooms, providing guests with a vibrant and immersive connection to Windsor’s ceremonial life.
