Puluh, Guardian of a Vanishing World

This high-quality Orangutang Art Print is of the original Puluh acrylic painting by Charlotte Sutton.

Summary:
Puluh is a hauntingly beautiful fine art print portraying a male Sumatran orangutan in a rare moment of stillness and reflection. His wise, weary eyes speak volumes—bearing witness to a world that is vanishing around him. Originally painted by London-based photorealism artist Charlotte Sutton, this Limited Edition museum-grade giclée orangutang print brings both the gentle spirit and urgent plight of an endangered species into focus.

The Story:
Puluh looks out over the once-lush forests of Sumatra and watches another tree fall. Where there was once endless green, there is now dust, machines, and the sound of fear. He feels the deep ache of loss—not just of land, but of safety, of song, of future. The forest is no longer a sanctuary. His gaze, though quiet, carries a devastating truth: his home may not survive his own lifetime.
Charlotte painted Puluh as a tribute to the wisdom and vulnerability of these great apes, and as a call to protect what remains. Referencing Puluh, a real Sumatran orangutang once resident at Chester Zoo, this piece stands as both portrait and protest—an invitation to care.

A note from Charlotte…
Charlotte painted the original Puluh in January 2022 in her Somerset studio. It was later exhibited at Green & Stone, London, as part of her Coexist solo show. Charlotte’s wildlife work aims to evoke emotion, foster connection, and spark a sense of stewardship through beauty and storytelling.
