The Story:
Charlotte was inspired by the humble wren’s character - small in size but bold in presence. A common visitor to British gardens and hedgerows, the wren is often seen darting through undergrowth or singing with surprising volume. In Jenny Wren, Charlotte sought to pause that movement - inviting the viewer to notice the details we often overlook: the soft feathers, fine beak, and delicate grip of claw on twig.

Painted in soft layers of watercolour, this portrait is a celebration of the everyday magic in nature - a tribute to the beauty found just outside the window, if we take the time to look.

A note from Charlotte…
Charlotte painted Jenny Wren in July 2023 in her Wandsworth Town studio. It was later exhibited at Green & Stone, London, as part of her Coexist solo show, and is now sold. Charlotte’s wildlife work aims to evoke emotion, foster connection, and spark a sense of stewardship through beauty and storytelling.
