The Story:
Charlotte painted this piece during a time of transition, drawn to the idea of metamorphosis and stillness coexisting. In many cultures, the dragonfly is a sign of change, self-realisation, and lightness of being. This painting reflects those meanings while remaining grounded in close observation and careful craftsmanship. It is both scientific and spiritual in its rendering—an anatomical study and a symbolic presence.

A note from Charlotte…
Charlotte painted Dragonfly in July 2023 in her Wandsworth Town studio. It was later exhibited at Green & Stone, London, as part of her Coexist solo show. Charlotte’s wildlife work aims to evoke emotion, foster connection, and spark a sense of stewardship through beauty and storytelling.
