The Story:
Charlotte was inspired by her Grandfather to paint Dusk Kingfisher after observing his love for them and urgency to seek them in the river woodland he loved. While painting, the kingfisher became a symbol of clarity and presence. The iridescent blues and fiery oranges mirror both sky and flame, while the soft background hints at dusk, a liminal time of reflection and potential. Dusk Kingfisher is about those rare, perfect moments of stillness that exist between movement—when everything feels possible, and utterly alive.

A note from Charlotte…
Charlotte painted the original Dusk Kingfisher in June 2023 in her Wandsworth Town studio. It was later exhibited at Green & Stone, London, as part of her Coexist solo show, where it was sold. Charlotte’s wildlife work aims to evoke emotion, foster connection, and spark a sense of stewardship through beauty and storytelling.
