Blue Tit, A Flash of Feathered Joy

Original Blue Tit watercolour painting by Charlotte Sutton.

Summary:
Blue Tit is a joyful watercolour capturing one of Britain’s most colourful and curious garden birds. Perched lightly on a slender branch, this tiny bird bursts with life—its lemon-yellow chest, bright blue cap, and inquisitive eye all painted with radiant precision. Created by London-based artist Charlotte Sutton, this blue-tit painting brings a pop of cheerful nature into your home.

The Story:
Charlotte was inspired by the blue tit’s playful energy and its charm as a familiar garden visitor. Often seen flitting from branch to branch or performing aerial acrobatics around feeders, this small bird is full of personality. In Blue Tit, Charlotte invites us to pause and appreciate its beauty up close—from the intricate feather textures to the gleam of light in its eye.
Painted in fine layers of watercolour, this portrait celebrates not just the blue tit’s vibrant plumage, but its symbolic spirit: joyful, resilient, and always present if we choose to look. A perfect piece for bird lovers, gardeners, or anyone seeking a moment of natural brightness indoors.

A note from Charlotte…
Charlotte painted Blue Tit in July 2023 in her Wandsworth Town studio. It was later exhibited at Green & Stone, London, as part of her Coexist solo show, and is now sold. Charlotte’s wildlife work aims to evoke emotion, foster connection, and spark a sense of stewardship through beauty and storytelling.
